The Bark & The Tree has been in development for several years... like 25 or so but whose counting.
Sometimes slow is the best way to really cook something delicious! First performed in Albuquerque, NM at
SoloFest - the power of ONE in 2010 the play has seen subsequent performances at the
Albuquerque Film and Music Experience,
Bloomsburg Theater Ensemble Women's Solo Theater Festival,
The Los Angeles Women's Theater Festival,
United Solo NYC
and Show Shepherd's At-Home Theater Series
as a result of the shelter in place orders during the COVID-19 outbreak.
where it was awarded BEST DOCUMENTARY PLAY and BEST LIGHTING DESIGN,
and as far away as Headford, Ireland where the play was first conceived in 1992.
Returning this year with a fresh look at the script, sound design and costume choices, we are super excited to bring the show back to United Solo Theater Festival as one of the 10th Anniversary Best of the Fest Encore performances!
(and btw, we're leaving the lighting design alone... just too pretty to mess with it...)
